10 Things To Keep Handy When Moving To A Different House

​There are various reasons why you are moving to a different house. Maybe you are relocating to a different state and moving your possessions. Whatever your reason, deciding how to pack can be cumbersome. Here are things you should never have too far from your reach when moving to a new home. 

1. First-aid Kit  
   Lifting heavy objects can be dangerous. For this reason, you should never bury your first aid kit too deep in a box. It should have band-aids, antiseptic wipes, tweeters, a thermometer, and some ibuprofen pills. 
   
   
2. Keys 
   This is one item that we tend to forget all the time. You don’t want to be locked out from your new home or when returning to your old home after your trip. 
   
   
3. Spare Batteries 
   Not all your items can be charged; hence, a spare battery is necessary for those battery-operated ones. 
   
   
4. Chargers 
   Chargers should be your must-have for essential electronics like phones, laptops, or tablets. 
   
   
5. Flashlight or Headlamp 
   You will never know when there will be a power failure, so packing flashlights or headlamps is a must. You may also need to pack candles and matches. The latter can also come in handy for gas stoves that won’t light up. 
   
   
6. Easy-to-Cook Food 
   After all the loading and unloading of stuff, you would no longer have the time and strength to prepare a sumptuous meal. For this reason, you must bring easy food to prepare, such as instant noodles, bread, cereals and milk, canned soup, and others. 
   
   
7. Bottled Water 
   In your new home, you may not have access to clean water right away. Bottled water comes in handy in these types of situations. 
   
   
8. Basic Cleaning Supplies 
   You might need to do some cleaning when you unload everything you need. You need glass cleaners, dish soap, a broom, a dustpan, and multi-surface cleaners.
   
   
9. Plates, Utensils, and Cups 
   Make sure that there is enough of each for every family member. 
   
   
10. Identification Cards and Records 
    If you are moving into a condominium or gated community, you may initially need to show your IDs and other pertinent records.
